Heather and Jeff’s traditional wedding was hosted at one of Southern California’s most beautiful historic venues, the Ebell Long Beach. As soon as you enter the Ebell you notice the traditional design architectural details such as its rounded archways and grand ballroom accompanied by modern designs like the black and white tiling of the courtyard and the skylights that flood the courtyard with natural light. Built in the 1920’s, the venue has Spanish inspiration that fit perfectly with the moody and elegant design of the wedding.
It all began with the ceremony that took place in the courtyard where black chairs sat in rows, creating an aisle down the middle to the altar. At the front of the aisle sat four large floral arrangements, two on each side displayed on wooden pedestals. The floral designs included roses of different white, blush and lavender colors that created a moody design. Hydrangeas were also included to add to the blooming arrangements, along with flowing eucalyptus leaves. Meanwhile, the bridal party wore classic looks of black and white and carried similar bouquets to that of the bride’s bouquet of blush and lavender tone roses. The dapper groom and groomsmen wore two roses as complimenting boutonnieres. The bride’s look stood out from the rest as she wore a traditional long sleeve lace dress and carried a large bouquet full of roses and eucalyptus fashioned in a loose, organic arrangement.
The tone of the wedding ceremony was carried through to the reception in the grand ballroom by way of an abundance of florals on every tabletop. The light and elegant tones used in the design created an elegant ambiance in the stately ballroom which boasts high wainscoting and sparkling large chandeliers. Centerpieces filled the round tabletops and ranged from collections of blooms in low vessels to full arrangements in towering clear vases, each filled with roses and hydrangeas and flowing greenery. To add texture and variation, long rectangular dining tables featured a structure framed in florals that made it seem as if they were floating above the table. With such beautiful floral designs, this wedding was truly blooming with elegance.
