While planning your big day, there are so many elements to get caught up in. But when it comes to a jumping off point, can you imagine anything better than celebrating during your favorite time of year?
For some, that dream might involve a sunny mid-summer afternoon, full-fledged autumn colors, or perhaps something even as bold as a wintery elopement to the mountains. Of course, we believe there is beauty to be found in all seasons, and channeling that beauty should be as endless and unique as the couple themselves.
For Niki and Alan, their dream came to life as a burgundy accented late summer wedding in the Spanish courtyard of the gorgeous Rancho Las Lomas. With magnificent terracotta touches and burgundy florals flowing throughout the ceremony and reception, it’s easy to see why the dwindling days of summer offer some of our most favorite themes.
With the lovely Cortney Helaine Events at the head of planning for this unforgettable event, we see the focus of the day really lean into the built-in elements this venue has to offer.
As guests walked into an airy outdoor ceremony, they were seated in naturally-toned wooden chairs and surrounded by luscious green trees that were also enjoying their last breaths of summer. The seating complimented the setting handsomely, without stealing a bit of focus.
Niki and Alan pledged forever to each other in front of our circular floral arch that included plenty of greenery, some peachy and light pinks, as well as touches of burgundy that so famously signal fall is well on its way. Behind them, an aged stone staircase lined with candle-lit lanterns added to the charm and dimension of the scene.
The courtyard reception proved to be equally as enchanting, with beautifully dressed round tables scattering the scene. Overhead, string lights set the mood for a perfectly romantic evening celebrating the newlyweds.
At the back of the courtyard was the royally dressed sweetheart table, blanketed in the familiar green, peach, and burgundy theme we saw carried throughout the ceremony, although here we see it with even more crisp pops of white.
While there is no right answer to the season of your choosing, this burgundy accented late summer wedding might have us a bit partial to the waning days of summer, as one season blends so seamlessly into the next.
